Crickhowell is renowned for its pubs and food and of course 'The Bear Hotel', the old Coaching Inn for the area located in the centre of Crickhowell. This inn offers high quality food, wines and beer and received the prestigious award of 'Best Pub in Britain 2000'. There are at least six other country pubs within walking distance of the cottage. Also, 1 mile outside of Crickhowell is the Nantyffin Cider Mill which has been awarded 'Welsh Dining Pub of the Year 2000' - well worth a visit
